Retsina has been made for least 2000 years. Even then it was very popular in terms of taste and it has remained so. Since 1940 Retsina has been a traditional trade name and is only produced in Greece and Cyprus.

The Retsina Malamatina is a resinated wine specialty, which is produced exclusively in Greece. The addition of a small amount of pine resin during fermentation gives the retsina its characteristic taste and at the same time brings out the fruity aromas of the varieties.
